چکیده
Using industrial waste such as bottom ash (BA) is a potential alternative to using sand for tackling the current shortage of natural resources in construction industry. This, along with internal curing concept, enables proper inside and out, especially low water-to-cement (w/c) ratio concrete, which has permeability. The work investigated flow, compressive strength, heat microstructure characteristics (using an electron microprobe analysis, EPMA) evaluate use BA sand-replacing material. Partial replacements fine aggregate were prepared five different mortars (0, 20%, 45%), fixed 0.35. Consequently, peak increased when compared control mortar, indicating higher hydration rate. strength mortar exceeded 50–60 MPa by 28 days. On microstructural level, showed increase volume fraction small pores from 3 50 mm. Moreover, content Ca(OH)2 d enhancing hydration. This study shows possibility valorizing replacement concrete w/c ratio.

Internal Curing with Crushed Returned Concrete Aggregates
High performance concrete (HPC) requires a low water-to-cementitious materials mass ratio (w/cm), often with the inclusion of supplemental cementitious materials such as silica fume in the mixture, thus necessitating the use of a superplasticizer. Because of the low w/cm and rapid reaction at early ages, proper curing from the earliest time possible is very essential in HPC. Internal curing has...
متن کاملPumice Aggregates for Internal Water Curing
A novel concept in internal curing of High Performance Concrete is based on dispersing very small, saturated lightweight aggregates (LWA) in the concrete, containing sufficient water to counteract self-desiccation. With this approach, the amount of water in the LWA can be minimized, thus economizing on the amount of the LWA. In this study, the pore structure of different size fractions of pumic...
متن کاملFly Ash-Based Geopolymer Mortar Incorporating Bottom Ash
This paper presents the results of study on effect of various parameters on mechanical properties of fly ash-based geopolymer mortar with bottom ash as partial or full replacement for sand. Compressive strength of samples with 10% bottom ash (BA) was comparable to those with only sand. Further increase in bottom ash content decreased the compressive strength. However, the reverse tendency occur...

This paper compares the alkali-activated fly ash (AAFA) manufactured with thermal oven curing and pulsed microwave curing methods. Fly ash activated by 8M NaOH solution at a liquid to solid ratio of 0.3 was cured by thermal oven at 85°C and domestic microwave oven, respectively. Apart from compressive strength test, the temperature profiles of AAFA samples were captured by thermal camera. React...
